Hi, I am new to joining so I thought I would share probably the thing that has saved me the most money in the last year. (over £1000)
I recently started working for crooza a company that manufacturers electric scooters/mopeds that look like 50cc mopeds but are 100% electric.
I used to use a 2 litre petrol car to get to work which is 5 miles away and I realised it was costing me a fortune in insurance, fuel and tax. So luckily the company I work for lent me one of its scooters and my costs plummeted!!
I can’t believe more people aren’t using these, it costs about 8p to charge and is equal to about 1000mpg, tax is FREE and the acceleration is amazing and outperforms most cars.
The key thing I was concerned with was the range but it goes about 35 miles at 30mph and every night I just put it on charge. It is like using a bicycle but without the effort.
I hope my boss reads this and lets me keep the scooter

Oops.. I thanked this before seeing you'd spammed a url to shop.
I do like the electric bikes / mopeds... but I'm too much of a softie with such busy roads and heavy traffic around.0 -
Thats all great but what does your company literature have for me like the majority who dont just drive less than 35 miles at a time, what about weekly shops, what about passengers, what about the fact its limited to inner city driving and so on?
These sort of things are inconvenient and whilst may be ok for short local journeys are useless for what most of us have a car for. If we only wanted to go a quick journey to work we would buy a bus ticket.0 -
I think you are right anyone who travels more than 35 miles on every journey will not be able to use an electric scooter.
Passengers and a small amount of shopping could be possible, but I think it would depend on your passengers desire to sit on the back of a moped. I don’t live in the city so it is definitely not limited to the inner cities.0
