Hi, what kind of internet connection you have governs how you can send a fax. if you are connecting via broadband you will have to use an email/fax service and even if you are on dial up you may want to use one of these services anyway rather than try and install a fax program.

You could also use a web based fax service such as https://www.j2.com
They have free numbers for you to receive faxes, but if you want to send you have to subscribe.
All incoming faxes are delivered to your email in box.
Have been using for years (6 or so) and find it invaluable to get a fax sent to me that I can retrieve anywhere in the world. Anywhere that has a pc and internet connection that is!!Don't lie, thieve, cheat or steal. The Government do not like the competition.

I didnt think you needed the cd to install the fax services?
Try: START | CONTROL PANEL | ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS | ADD/REMOVE WINDOWS COMPONENTS | Tick FAX SERVICES | Click NEXT and it should install. To load it up go to: START | ALL PROGRAMS | ACCESSORIES | COMMUNICATIONS | FAX
Hope it helps.0
