Salvaging a corrupt memory card?

Hello,

Please help !! I have a Sony Ericsson w800i phone with a Sandisc Memory Stick Pro Duo 512mb memory card, but I think I have corrupted the card and wondered if anyone knew of any way of salvaging the 80 pictures I had on it !!

The phone works fine and I have tried another memory card in the phone, and the pics on that card show fine. I have tried the corrupt memory card in a card reader, but it wont find anything. I have tried the corrupt card in another w800i phone, and it says no file/folder.

I have tried the corrupt card in the machines at Boots and Klicks, but no images found. The man at Boots suggested sending the card off to Fuji, as his corrupted going thro an X-ray machine at the airport, so that is an option.

I am gutted about losing the photos as they are of my kids and my eldest Son being Star of the Week at school.

Please help !!

I have found this on the SanDisk website, but when I downloaded and run the software, it came up with I/O error for my card reader, whilst trying to recover the photos.

I have tried them, but it still wont recognise the card, says insert drive, or insert card. My phone does now recognises the card, but still says no files found, so all the recovery software wont/cant find anything. I have also tried the recovery software with a card reader, but again, it wont even find the card.

The link I provided from Sandisk website, for RescuePro, also gives details of a company in Nottingham that you can send your card to, but it cost £44. I am hoping to call in person, as I only live in Sheffield.

Hello,

Just to let you all know that Klick now do a memory card retrieval service. Apparently any Klick shop can offer it and they started doing it last summer. They post the memory card to Head Office, in Leeds, I think, to the Technical Dept. It costs £4.99 and you get your photos on a CD. You then pay for the developing in the normaly way. Works in 9/10 cases. I am still awaiting my card back, as it can take upto 2 weeks, so just got to wait and see.

None of the online software worked, as it wouldnt find anything, but thanks again for everyones help.

The company in the link that I posted previously wanted to charge me £72. I am based in Sheffield, and they are only in Nottingham. The price on the website is £44 whihc includes postage to USA, but then they said VAT was included, making it £52. Dont know where the other £20 comes from and they havent answered my email asking !!
