which balance transfer?

Hi I have a barclaycard and a egg card with a very high apr%, I have just won my case with egg bnking for screwing me with PPI on some loans that date back to 2001:beer: Egg now owe me £4000 thanks to this site and the Financial ombudsman and thats about how much I owe on my current barclay card and egg card balances, now I plan to use my award money to pay my cards of and be free;), but egg are dragging there feet on paying out and seem to be raising my apr% quite regularly and it now sits at 26%, they are obviously dragging there feet whilst screwing me at 26% to recoup some of the money they will innevitably have to pay me:naughty:

I am not a homeowner, and I am selfemployed, but my credit rating is good and my bank is in the balck with a little money in it:D, which card would let me balance transfer the £4000 , so that I can stop egg pilfering my award money back into there greedy little pot;)

Why not simply clear your Egg bill with your money so they don't charge you any interest at all and wait on receiving the £4k?

Any card that offers a balance transfer will let you transfer the balance on your Egg card. Virgin Money have the longest term deal at the moment - there's a full list of htem at http://www.stoozing.com/0fees.php (sponsored and supported by MSE)

I don't think the OP has £4k lying about to pay them Canny.

I think I would advise the MBNA 1.9% for 12 months card. Hopefully Egg will pay out fairly soon, and you would pay a minimal amount of interest on this card with NO Balance Transfer fee. It can also be set up with around 2 weeks.

Hope you get the situation sorted soon.

I think that card was pulled a couple of weeks ago Nick.

Opps OK, I wasn't able to apply for it anyway (Grrr!!)

In that case the Play card offered by MBNA has an offer of 0% on Balance Transfers for 6 months with a 1.5% fee.

This should minimize the BT fee whilst waiting for the settlement from Egg.

Only other option is YorkshireBoy's favourite - get an M&S card with 10 months 0% on Purchases. Buy Sterling Traveller's cheques from M&S with a 1% fee. Pay these into a bank account and settle the other cards from there. A little more to do, but I think this is the cheapest route.

P.S. Disclaimer : Before buying any Sterling Traveller's cheques make sure your bank will accept them.
