I just opened one of these (should be at the 3.30% rate). I only posted the form and cheque yesterday afternoon and today it appears along with my other bonds. I'd had the forms for nearly 2 months and did nothing, but now it is open it might be useful a temporary home for maturing bonds in case there is nothing good around in a couple months time when the first one matures having recieved 5.31% net per month for the last nearly year.
As this Coventry account is a postal operated account has anyone found it is possible to transact online with this it? I understand I will get a pack of paying in slips and withdrawal slips. But bearing in mind the impending national post strike transactions by post may not be safe. We hear of millions of items stuck in sorting offices already and that is where there has been localised strikes.

No way to see it online - its solely postal0

Well, like I said, I can see it online. Shows the date the account was opened, the account number, the amount credited, all this before I yet have the postal confirmation. I know this will arrive shortly, as my wife opened the earlier Poppy Save with operates post only (and she doesn't have an online account). No way to see it online - its solely postal
But my question was is it possible to pay in/out online with this account.0 -
Yes I can see it online, and transfer from my other accounts with Coventry. However I think any withdrawal would have to be by post. It does not appear in the list of accounts I can transfer from.0

That is right, though I didn't know about transfers between accounts. Does seem possible. My other accounts are bonds so I'm not going to be transferring out of those. I received my welcome pack today after opening the account, and from the leaflet, one can pay in by arranging a bank transfer, but for withdrawals, that does have to be by post and the money sent by cheque.Yes I can see it online, and transfer from my other accounts with Coventry. Oh and it has been opened as the 1st Class Postal (so presumably at 3.30% AER) as the account advertised now at 3% is 1st Class Postal (2).0
