Natwest Credit card default

Hi,
I am new!!!

I defaulted on my natwest credit card back in 2004, but it showed up on my credit file as June 2005. I recently received a letter from Phoenix recoveries to collect the money, I sent them a prove it letter and they sent a reply saying they are no longer dealing with the matter.

Now my credit report is showing a default from Fairmile Partnership ltd instead of Natwest? Is this correct, i only thought the original creditor can put this on your credit file, and what action do you think they will take.

Any help will be appreciated.

MANY THANKS

  • You may have defaulted (i.e. last paid) back in 2004 but maybe the lender didn't register it until 2005? They can wait 5yrs and then add one if they wanted.... You can (if you want) try to prove that the lender have complied with Default process and also notice of assignment - read here for details: Unenforceability & Template Letters However I wouldn't, i;d wait until Statute Barred (6yrs since last payment).

Either way, it will drop off either 6yrs since the date of last payment or default date so assume you last paid back in 2004 then do not whatever you do chase anyone - ignore it and next year it will drop off your file (Statute Barred).

Have a read here for more details: Unenforceability & Template Letters
