Hi all
I have asked this question on OS before, and although I had loads of replies, none of them worked.
So IM asking again
I need a company that will deliver us a weekly veg box and a monthly meat box.
They need to be able to deliver in the evenings or Sat mornings
Preferably not abel & cole as Ive heard some pretty bad reports unfortunately.
Riverford gets great reviews, but wont deliver to me.
Any more ideas, keen to get onto this asap

 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

Have you tried Big Barn?
Just typed in London and this is the search result within a 15 mile radius.BigBarn allows visitors to:- Gain access to around 6500 independent food producers and gain information on their goods and services via their websites.
- Buy local, which means: fresh, direct from the producer, rather than goods that have been imported, warehoused and distributed.
- Pay less for better quality.
- Find specialists who deliver throughout the UK.
- Find producers who have ignored the supermarket buyers and paid more attention to flavour and quality rather than shelf-life.
- Avoid supermarkets.
- Gain information on nutrition, recipes, crop and plant husbandry.

I'll be watching this thread with interest as I'm looking for an organic company that would deliver to my area (S.E. London) in the evening or at the weekend.
Actually, I think there's a great business opportunity here for someone with initiative. Just think about all the people who work full-time in London, live in flats, have a high disposable income and are keen to eat organic food. If someone set up a company to deliver organic food at a time when people are actually at home, I'm sure they'd make a fortune.0 -

Are you unable to go out and purchase the meats you need, once a month?
I notice from the Big Barn link that there are some organic butchers and even though it does mean you would need to travel to them, I'm just wandering if that is possible, rather than nothing at all?

Ok, here is one that will deliver but have a surcharge for Saturday morning deliveries:
The Organic Farmers Market - Organic Food Home DeliveryOur aim is clear - to deliver your choice of high quality organic food and other products from the Westcountry direct to your doorstep with the best possible service
[snip]
We can deliver anywhere on the UK mainland, to home, office, family or friends, weekend cottage or holiday home ..
[snip]
Our standard deliveries are by courier services, delivered to your specified destination the day after despatch. Here are other options for extra services we can provide, which take more time to arrange so they cost a bit extra

However, evening/Saturday deliveries are indeed a problem, as with anything. I am lucky that I have a garage with an electric door, so they can put stuff in there. When they used to deliver when I was out, I put a small drinks fridge in there which was turned on on the day of delivery to keep the milk etc fresh. I wonder if anyone will take house keys and put the stuff straight in your fridge? After all, you'd give keys to a cleaner so why not a reputable organic food delivery company?Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.0 -
Do you have a regular farmers market?
That could be an option..and for us it's more than just shopping..it's lovely to go out there on a sunday morning and see all the lovely stuff piled high, try the cheses and fresh pears etc, and chat to the farmers..
we are in south london and have 3 different ones within 15 minutes walk every sunday!Membre Of Teh Misspleing Culb0 -

Thats a thought, although the problem is I have a minature freezer, so would only be able to get a weeks worth of food in in one hit. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
