Changing fron electric to gas question?

Hi i'm changing from an electric cooker to gas one ( my girlfriends moving in and she prefers gas) i've already got gas heating what do i have to do, will who ever i buy from install (if i pay) or do i have to have a gas safe qualified person to install my new gas cooker

If you decide to buy from one of the high street names such as Currys or Comet then they will offer to install the gas cooker for you. However, I believe you must already have a gas pipe very near to where you want the cooker to be fitted.
How about you buy the cooker from the internet at a cheaper price than high street then visit www.gassaferegister.co.uk and choose a local engineer to install it for you.
Also, there are special requirements for gas cookers being installed in flats. Ask a Gas Safe Registered engineer or responsible retailer for more advice on this if it applies to you.0
