Camcorder download.

Just got a camcorder, not new, JVCgr-df420. I also had to get a firewire card and cable as my computer does not have one. Have connrected cam to cable and cable to comp but comp does not see camcorder. What bit am I missing out in error? Camcorder is turned on!!! I assumed that computer would see it as mass storage and a programme would find it but no luck at present.

A few simple questions:

Is the memory card in it?

Did it come with any software and if so have you installed it?

If not could you find software somewhere on the net?

If not email the manufacturer and tell them you've lost your instruction manual and ask them to email you a copy.
