Only thing I can think of (and no doubt someone will be able to offer better advice) is to close down all obviously running programs and then check in Task Manager for any running programs or processes taking up CPU time. I wouldn't touch anything near the clock (can't remember the technical term) just anything appearing on the task bar.
Not entirely if that will show you what you need but it would be a good place to start.:wall: Flagellation, necrophilia and bestiality - Am I flogging a dead horse? :wall:

I would say dump it and go for either Avira/Avast and install (if necessary) a firewall. I use the free PCTools one and it seems to work for me.
Don't do it on my say-so! Wait for someone with a bit more experience in these matters to either confirm or come up with a better solution.:wall: Flagellation, necrophilia and bestiality - Am I flogging a dead horse? :wall:

Try uninstalling PC Guard. Reboot your PC after uninstalling and see if it prompts again for a program which is still open.
Normally stuff that comes free with ISP's is generally rubbish and slows down your PC.
Free antivirus should be fine for you - AVG / Avast etc..0
