Defaults and mortgages :-(

Hi I wonder if any one can help me? I got a default on my credit score when I was about 18 years old for a contract mobile phone that got stolen and they still charged me for the contract (which I didn't pay - hence the default). It is only for about £200 or something and was about 4 years ago now but I am really worried this might mean I will get refused a mortgage when I apply for one. Does anyone know whether this will be the case?

you can probably still get one but the rates won't be the best, have you paid the debt off? They only last 6 years but that may be once settled.0
