Good evening All.
I have just bought a new desktop pc which has windows vista installed. My problem is that I have tried to install my old webcam (creative nx pro) which the computer just will not recognise (I don't have a disc). Finally, after 3 weeks of 'tinkering', the computer finally told me tonight that windows vista will not work with this webcam and there is nothing I can purchase to help.
Is that really the case? Do I have to buy a new one or is there a way of getting round this?
Many thanks for your help.

I have to be honest with you, I think you might need to buy a new
webcam
I had a trawl though Google looking for drivers and they all point to
the following versions of Windows - 98/Me/2000/XP
I know how fustrating it is, when I upgraded to Vista
my old Canon scanner would not work as there was no
Vista drivers for itHad to buy a new one, so got one of them
all-in-one thingies

I don't have the same model of webcam so it is not a lot that I can think of sugesting but though it may be worth mentioning that ASDA do cheap webcam's for about £10 and although maybe not the best they are still pretty good and should do for people and are probably still better than the older ones so it may be easier to just get one of these than struggle with getting drivers to work0

Thank you. I think you're right, they are very cheap nowadays and hopefully I should pick one up that will work straight away on vista, I was just hoping to save time by using the old one!
Really appreciate your input, thank you.0 -
Been having problems myself this week to, a lot of software and hardware, not being supported by the full release of windows 7. Hopefully I will see some new drivers and software updates shortly.
Asda cheapo webcams are good value for the money, but also look on play and amazon, some good 1.3 megapixel bargains to be had for only a few £ more.0
