The motor claim company sound like a "Credit Hire" company, they will hire you a car at a very high daily rate and attempt to recover the costs from the other Insurer. Beaware that they will get you to sign a Credit Agreement and it normally contains a condition that if they cannot recover the hire costs from the other Insurer that you will be reponsible for the cost. It is not unusual for the other Insurers to challenge the cost or refuse to pay the cost in some circumstances. if this happens then there is the chance the hire company will come back to you for the costs which will be circa £100 per day of hire.
There are a few threads from people having problems with credit hire vehicles on the Insurance forum (Look under Drive Assist)
If the other Insurers have accepted liability and offered to repair then it might be worth getting the other Insurer to pay for the repairs and for them to provide you with a car. If they do this you do not have to worry about the car hire costs.
As you have injuries it is probably best for you to use a solicitor to recover the costs for the injury. If you a member of a union you will probably find they cover you for legal costs and will deal with the claim for you.0 -

Also if you have legal assistance cover as part of your motor insurance, or even your home insurance, it is worth giving them a ring to see if they can help you.I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0 -
Hi , I do not have legal cover and not covered by my house insurance.
Just an update , i sent off the cancellation form to the solicitor and phoned them to let them know thay i did not want them to carry on with the case, they were not to happy but said i would not incur any fees.
They did let slip that the referall fee of £800 was to be paid to the claim company for just phoning through my details to them but insisted it would not impact my case.
I contacted the law society as Daisy suggested ( thanks again ) and was given a list of PI solicitors who i could deal with direct .
Thanks again to all who took the time to answer my questions and offered their advice . Its nice to know there is some good people out there.0
