Here's a question for you money conscious people!!
I've been driving for a couple of years, and I'm currently in the process of renewing my car insurance. My last years insurance was £600 with Halifax (as I had one years NCB).
I had a bit of a bump six months ago (£450 damage on their car, no damage to mine) - put it through the insurance knowing I would have to sacrifice my one years NCB.
I've had a renewal letter and my premium has increased from £600 to £1200 (ridiculous but probably to be expected).
I have shopped around a little on various comparison sites and managed to get a quote for about £650 (result!).
My question to you clever folk is.. if I move to another insurance company will I carry my six months NCB with me, and will I receive my years certificate in six months time? OR is it best to ride the storm with the Halifax and pay the heavy premium until I get the one full year under my belt and then jog on to another insurance company?
Hope someone can help. Big thanks:money:

There is no partial NCB entitlement. The 6 months between your claim and now counts for nothing. In your case you have 0 NCB. When renewing you should declare 0 NCB and a year from now.....assuming no more claims....you can then declare 1 year NCB.
HTH:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0
