Ebay mistake - sent buyer incorrect item

Hi,
I've made a very silly mistake. I've sent a buyer the wrong item - he bought something for £20, and instead I sent a box containing £200 worth of equipment.
I agreed to refund him and pay for his return postage - which I did on his agreement the box would be sent back.
Of course - since this I've heard nothing. I no longer have his phone number, and 'surprise surprise' he's not responding to my email.
He now has the £200 item, a refund for the value of the original item, plus extra to cover return postage.
I may have been silly offering a refund in advance of receiving the item - but as he was essentially holding all the cards I wanted to keep him happy (plus the £20 refund is nothing compared to the actual value of the item).
My last email to him basically gave him a chance to respond - I said otherwise I'd be taking 'further action' (although I didn't say what).
What can I now do? Should I see a solicitor? Small claims court?

Your next step is to send him a letter (recorded delivery) saying:
Dear <ebay person's name>
On <insert date> goods (detail of goods) were sent to you in error, instead of <item he had purchased>.
A full refund of <insert amount> for your item was given on <insert date>, which also included a sufficient amount for you to post the unsolicited goods back to me.
As these goods were sent to you in error, and you have already received the money to return the goods, then I will require the goods sent back (as you agreed) within the next 7 days, and I expect receipt of them by <insert date>.
Please send to:
Your name
Your address
Town
Postcode
If this is not convenient to you, and as you have not replied to any of my emails, then please phone me on <insert phone number> and I will arrange a courier to collect the goods at your convenience, and you can return the money sent to you for the postage.
I look forward to either the goods returned or your phone call shortly.
If I do not hear from you, I will have no other option but to pursue you through the small claims court for recovery of the goods sent in error, as by law, these goods do not belong to you, and should be returned to the rightful owner.

Could you not call his local police station and ask them to pay him a visit? Or would they not get involved?0
