Hi, Jazzyman, I advised HR that my GP is sending a letter that I am fit to return to work. Just got the reply from HR that once the letter comes, I can notify them and note it down but I dont need to go back to work until the outcome of the hearing which will be on the 2nd week of October. So, does that mean, if I have the letter from GP, I have to stop my SSP from government and will my salary go back to its normal one? I am only a part-time employee but I think it will be better to have my own salary than the SSP one. And I take it, I cannot look for any job until the hearing is finished?
Yes, Ohreally, my union knew about this already and my union rep will accompany me on the hearing,,
Thanks guys for all your help and guidance..0 -
Hi - now that you have advised them, do you have a note from your GP that you are able to return? You need this asap. That way you can have this hand delivered. Attach a covering letter for example:
"Dear xx
I refer to our telephone conversation on (date) at (time) and enclose the letter from the doctor as requested.
During our conversation you advised me that I was not to return to work but to wait until the outcome of the appeal hearing, scheduled for xx.
Between now and the date of the scheduled hearing I should work xx days. As it is at the Company's request that I do not return, I would expect to receive my normal salary for these days.
Yours sincerely"
In addition, next to the date of the letter note that it was hand delivered.
In regard to looking for alternative work - you may do that whilst waiting for the appeal - absolutely nothing to stop you.
Yes, now you are deemed fit you must notify the appropriate bodies as you are no longer entitled to SSP.0 -
Thanks, Jazzyman, I have an appointment with my GP on Tuesday and she mentioned that she will give the letter on that day. (Didnt realise I have to pay £30 for it).
Regarding my letter to HR, I dont think I can hand deliver the letter, the person dealing with me from HR is based on the main work which is an hour drive from my work. Does it have to be hand delivered? What i did with my complaint letter and appeal letter was, I sent her a copy on the email and posted it as well. Would that be ok?
Thanks again.0 -
No dont need to hand deliver it, but the quicker it gets to them then the quicker you have identified that you are able to return to work and so they must pay.0
