Credit Card Company will not send statement out?

Hi I wondered if anyone can help or has had a similar problem to what I am having. I made a £8k purchase on my credit card in June at the time I had to register my card as I had not used it since receiving it, their systems were down so I had to call back the next day which I did & all was okay & I made my purchase. A week later I received a letter saying that as I had not used my account for some time it had been closed, & I did not hear anything else from the CC company until recently when I received a letter saying that I had missed a payment & I had been charged £12.00. I wrote back to them saying that I had not received a statement so could not see how I was late in paying & asked them to send me the statement in question so that I could pay. I have had some unheaded A4 papers sent to me showing all of the transactions since the account was opened & another letter asking me to call the CC Company to discuss my account & another stating that another £12.00 had been added to my account for non payment. I wrote back to them saying that I didn't consider the A4 paper to be a statement of account & would pay my bill as soon as they sent me a statement but would not pay the late payment fees as I have been unable to pay due to no statement & that if they would like to speak to me about my account that they should do it in writing (I want everything in black & white). Do you think that they are unable to send me a statement as the account has been closed? Where do I stand on this if they will not send me out a statement? any advice would be appreciated Cheers Mandy

Having spent £8000 back in June, you must have had an inkling that these monthly repayments were in the pipeline, surely. If not, you could have called CapOne to ask when your payments fall due.
Anyway, you know now. During any dispute with a credit card company, it's advisable to keep up the minimum payments required, until agreement is reached. Provided that you continue to meet the minimum payments, your credit rating is not affected. You are now in arrears and if you continue to withhold payment, your credit rating will take a hammering.People who don't know their rights, don't actually have those rights.0 -
If you feel you have grounds for complaint against C1, I would request a copy of its complaints procedure (you can do this over the phone). This sets out the time limits allowed for dealing with your complaint. The bank is also obliged to confirm the result of your complaint in writing. I would mark your envelope "Complaint" and send it recorded delivery.
You have the right to take your complaint to the Financial Ombudsman, if you are not satisfied with the outcome.
Meanwhile, I would advise you to make at least the minimum payments required. From feedback here, these issues are not resolved quickly.People who don't know their rights, don't actually have those rights.0 -

I tried to log in to my account last night but received a message saying that this part of my online account had been blocked due to the status of my account. These people really don't want my money!0
