Hello All,
A few days ago, a bloke knocked at my door telling me that he could save me money on my energy bills if I switched to his firm and I would 'get £100 just for joining'. He then went through some calculations and told me that I would save £30 a month (yeah right).
I then asked him when I got the £100 and he said after a year with the company, as a 'loyalty reward' (not a signup reward then). The rates were not fixed for a year. I then re-did his sums for the gas bill and, what a surprise, he had made a mis-calculation. The unit costs he had used were wrong, I would have made no saving and inheavier usage months I would've made a loss.
Unfortunately I don't remember the company name, but I thought I would warn everyone that if anyone calls claiming to be giving you £100, ask LOTS of questions.
Thanks,
Alex

These peeps get you into their web by asking you questions. If they can get some dialogue going..they have a chance in persuading you. Let peeps have the chance to say why they are knocking your door then say, no thanks, I am not interested, bye and close the door. Dont enter into any dialogue with them at all..simple. Well done for catching this one out but if anything seems too good to be true..it usually is.0
