Sky Talk .... load of ***

I have been a customer of Sky for many years and have had no problems, however that has changed since taking out their Sky Talk plan.

Last October 08 I cancelled Sky Talk and went to a broadband and talk package with Virgin as we cant get Sky BB where we live, two months later we were still being billed fot S T, after a few phone calls to sky we got a credit for one month, as the months went by we were swapped twice by sky back to them, the only notification was from virgin saying we're sorry your leaving, by which time sky had already been activated and they were charging us.

Where am I at now ? well our provider is now BT and has been for a few months now and yup you guessed it we're still being charged for sky talk even though all our calls go through BT, today charges for £10.58 for last month and £0.36 for this month, otelo now involved and matter has been escallated as far as it can go within the walls of Sky. Im now thinking of going down the lines of issueing formal papers against Sky along the lines of Malitious Communications Act 1988 as the letters are demands for money which they know is not owed to them thus causing me the stress of a) getting the letters and b) having to ring them up every month, and also thinking of Protection From Harassment Act 1987 as they are harassing me for upaid non existant charges.

Anyone else had this kind of dealings with Sky Talk ?

I'd say the Small Claims procedure would be easier. Sky is a large organisation and is unlikely to turn up.

Don't forget to claim for your time spent on the phone to them (£20 per hour may be considered reasonable).

When they don't pay, you can get the bailiffs sent in!
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

Had an email from Sky today saying that sky talk had been completely removed from my account and that I do not owe them anything, as a result of the hassle they have caused they are now giving me a years subscription at half price as compensation

RESULT ! it pays to complain
