Virgin + Quidco

Hi

As I am only looking for a phone line for 12 months, I am going to go with Virgin since for BT I either have to i. Pay the connection fee to get on a 12 month contract or ii. Not pay the connection fee but be signed up to an 18 month contract then have to pay a fee to get out of the contract.

I have done the sums and worked out that Virgin Media (with their current free connection offer) is cheaper.

I was just wondering for anyone who has been around here for a while - what is the likelihood that they will go back on to Quidco? By this I mean was it made clear that the offer on Quido was for a fixed period? Or are they regularly taken off Quidco and put back on?

Obviously signing up through them would be the best option but I need to get the phone line connected soon rather than waiting!

Thanks

  • Seems to change almost daily.

I took out all 3 services via Quidco two Sundays ago (13th) and got £150 cashback.

I mentioned this on a thread 2 days later and the response I got was that it was only £65. I had a look, sure enough, while I got it for £150, it was now offering only £65.

3 or 4 days later it had disappeared altogether and now says "coming soon"

  • Thanks - that's exactly what I thought might be happening. I got in touch with Quidco and they said they couldnt put a date on it. Offer has been withdrawn from all other cashback websites too...

I'll prolly just wait a couple of days then see if it goes back up,

    Cheers

All the deals seem to have stopped at present as mentioned, have you had a look at
My Voucher Codes . co. uk

or with Nectar - Collect 3,000 points when you sign up with Virgin Media.
    Hope this helps ?
  • Looks like they've pulled down their offers too, the links to the Virgin website dont even work...

I'm hoping the cash back offer comes back too but I need to order this as soon as possible so I may miss out this time.
  • You can get £30 if you are recommended by a friend I got an email today and here are the terms below ( If your interested all I need is your full name and email address - or you could always ask a friend you know who already is with Virgin who can recommend you through Virgins website. PM details if interested don't advertise it on the forum):

Connect a Friend: To receive the Connect a Friend credit any existing Virgin Media customer other than a Virgin Media National PAYG dial-up customer must get an eligible friend to subscribe to any Virgin Media service (other than our up to 2Mb cable broadband-only service) (subject to status and credit checks). Eligible friends are: (a) friends who would be taking Virgin Media services for the first time; (b) friends who are existing Virgin Mobile customers with no other Virgin Media services. Former Virgin Media customers are not eligible friends. At the time of the recommendation, your friend must not have already been recommended by another Virgin Media customer. You and your friend will each receive a £30 credit applied to your respective Virgin Media accounts. Credits are applied once any money-back guarantee period has passed and each of you has paid your first month's bill. Credits will not be: (a) applied retrospectively; (b) used to reduce any outstanding charges owed by you/your friend to Virgin Media (the outstanding balance must be reduced before the credit will be applied); (c) applied to your/your friend's account or exchanged for cash if the agreement between you/your friend and Virgin Media is terminated for any reason. If you pass your friend's details to Virgin Media, you warrant that you have your friend's permission to do so. Not to be used in conjunction with any other offer
