I think the OP may be Victor Meldrew.
  • Thanks for your comments. This is my first experience of neighbour issues so I guess I am lucky, but its not for me.

In the meantime I still have to live in the house. In my original post I mentioned that the landlord told me he had no intention of letting to sharers. He showed me round the property after he had renovated it. I would agree that this is not yet a sharing situation but surely there is a cut off point. I will see how things turn out over the next couple of weeks and if the additional occupants are still there, and creating a nuisance, I may mention their presence to the letting agent and leave it to them. If they wish to tell me that its none of my business then so be it. But they might be happy to know. We will see.

You need to pick your battles and you might get some interest from either the letting agent or environmental health. What exactly are you objecting to, sharers or noise? Have you even tried to speak to your original neighbours directly or have you just gone in all guns blazing trying to cause trouble? How would you feel if you'd made a small mistake at work and someone told your boss instead of giving you the heads up?

The way you have worded your OP sounds like you have completely unreasonable expectations of what is acceptable. I cannot for the life of me see how having a ball kicked against your fence on ONE occasion, or having someone accidentally step on your lawn on ONE occasion is hurting you or your property. Door slamming and cars being parked on the lawn is inconsiderate and needs addressing in a calm and rational manner.
