In july I booked a hotel in Glasgow through a web site called BOOK IN HOTELS (all one word) dot com. Paid and received voucher which states paid. On arrival at the hotel, I was dismayed to be told by the hotel that they had received an email from bookinhotels cancelling my reservation. I had received no notice from bookinhotels whatsoever that they had done this and I certainly gave no authorisation. The hotel telephoned bookinhotels and asked them why they had cancelled my booking, they said something about internal decisions. Both the hotel and myself spoke on the phone to bookinhotels asking about refunding my account. The answer was that they had refunded that morning and that it would take 7 days for the amount to appear in my bank account. The hotel asked them to email them with confirmation that they had done this, which they did. It clearly states in the email that they had refunded my account and the amount would appear on that account within 7 days. Nearly a month later, no refund has been received by me. I would be pleased to hear from anyone as to what my rights are in this case. Apparently the company is based in Turkey yet they give UK and USA customer service telephone numbers. I have seen a number of like comments about these people and wonder if there is anything that can be done to ban them from advertising on websites etc as they are clearly fraudulent.

Oh and just to add, just looked at the website in question. Looks well dodgy...
