                    hi, i need to reinstall the sound card on my pc as i had to reinstall xp when it crashed.  the sound card is  C-Media 9739A AC'97.  i've checked their website but it only seems to have links for newer software :mad:.  can anyone help please.

            Try the following:
- Go to Start→Run, type devmgmt.msc and click OK.
 - Look under Sound, video and game controllers for an unidentified device.
 - Right-click it and select Update Driver. If prompted, allow Windows to connect to Windows Update to search for it.

            http://www.driverguide.com/ has this driver, you may need to register but there is a free membership option0

Open Drivers provides a similar service without the rigmarole of mandatory registration. If the driver is not available from Windows Update you can obtain a copy of the original from there instead....you may need to register...0 -
