  • Have you tried keeping a spending diary?
My money was disappearing too so I started a simple spreadsheet to log every penny I spent and it has made me realise how much money I spend on food! I no longer think "oh it's only a tenner" I now think "ohh that'll look bad on my spending diary, I'll not buy that". Sounds geeky but it saves you a hell of a lot of money trust me :D
    Good luck :)

According to your SOA you should have £866 spare each month, and want to save £750. You could take the £750 out of your account and put it into an easy access savings account at the start of the month and then keep a close eye on your main account to not go overdrawn and embarrass yourself if you need to transfer any money back for spending. Alternatively you have £116 + £50 entertainment + £20 presents to play with each month which is about £40 a week. You could take £40 a week out in cash and make yourself pay for everything except petrol with cash on a when it is gone it is gone basis.
But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,
Had the whole of their cash in his care.

Don't you buy food or clothes? You need to make an allowance for these.
