  • I get that occassionally, it was really bad a couple of years ago and I went on beta-blockers (which made me feel worse - so I stopped them after just two days!!!) it's probably stress or excitement of seeing OH, but keep an eye on it, mine lasted froma couple of minutes up to a couple of days (constant 'fluttering' in my chest) but if its stress/anxiety theres not much that can be done apart from chillaxing or something like prozac!!!

ahh thanks hun, thought it would be something to do with stress, and yes it is a fluttery feeling you're right. I think its more stress than excitement. hmmm dont fancy beta blockers dont like tablets.... and prozac.... that's not my thing either... I wonder if the doctor would just sign me off work forever..... erm not gonna happen, just going to have to chillax then, I think a lovely hot bath would probably help might do that tomorrow, thanks for your concern though hun x

right beddy byes for me n'nights x
  • The beta-blockers were a nightmare, my blood-pressure is always good but one of the uses of beta-blockers is to lower blood-pressure, so what it did to me was plummit my blood-pressure severely, so I felt like I was having an out-of-body experience, it lasted over 30 minutes and luckily I was sat down when it started, I just knew if I tried to stand I would pass out but at the same time I knew if I remained completely still I would pass out, so I carried on with what I was doing very slowly and deliberately my work colleagues were really concerned they said I had gone grey!!! (I'm just glad I wasn't taking a class at the time!!)

I knew there was no point in trying to move so I just had to wait for it to pass.........it was the worst experience of my whole life it was literally like I wasn't quite 'in' my own body but floating just slightly out of it, once it passed I rang the dr who said it was the tablets and I shouldn't take any more (you think!!??!!) and I had had what they term a 'near faint' so I was right, if I had tried to move I would have gone!!

    Just look after yourself xxx

I'd still take a trip to the Dr just to get checked over.

It might be worth doing some relaxation exercises everyday and your exercise should help too. Maybe cut down a bit on the to do lists and spend more time relaxing with a good book and your blanket.

Exactly the things I should be doing!!
