Keeping fit with a wii

With Winter creeping up I'm going to borrow my mum's wii for a bit of indoor fitness but what the best game to use? There seem to be so many games out there, we have the wii fit but I saw this

http://www.play.com/Games/Wii/4-/5541878/Family-Trainer/Product.html?P36=G7AGQ7

and this

and this

and

and there seems to be more, I'm confused to which one is the best:confused:
Any idea's or what do you use?

Many thanks

the standard one that comes with it is quite good to get your started. You should try that before buying any others I reckon as it does get quite boring after a while and you might lose interest. Best to try before you spend any money on it. Ive hard that family trainer is awful unless you have small children (dont really think its for getting fit as such). The others Ive not heard much about but there are loads of websites that you can get reviews from. Definately try the standard wiifit one first and maybe progress from there. I used mine for about a month and got very bored....its good that you borrowing one first, wish i had!!! Hope it all goes well.

Sunshine makes a very good point, i preordered mine and used it for afew weeks but havent bothered since. The games are very good and as you play through them you get more exercises. I have the 1st game you put a link too, this doesnt actually work with the wii fit board but has its own matt that you plug in, this is a very good game but i wouldnt buy it, its a thing that you use once or twice and thats it!! Try stay with the wii fit, i plan on trying to get back into mine to loose abit of weight!
  • Hi,
I have Wii Fit. I found it enjoyable but have just got a new "game" EA sports active personal trainer for Wii. You can choose different workouts (20, 30, 40 mins easy/ hard etc). I am enjoying it. The biggest advantage for me is that if you choose a 40 minute workout it gives you a full workout. The workout changes each time. Wii Fit lets you choose how many or few (in my case) activities you do and lets you choose your favourites. Sports Active makes me more disciplined and as I sit here I can feel the effects. (pain!). Wii Fit is great but I would spend less money and get Sports Active. You can also use it with the balance board if you have one.

    Hope this helps

Would also agree with highlandmum - EA Sports Active is sooo much better than the standard Wii Fit, and you don't need to buy the Wii Fit with the balance board either.

I have Wii Fit and Wii Active.

Wii Fit is fun but you don't really work up a sweat on it as you keep stopping to choose the next exercise and it's more fun based.

Wii Active is more like a proper exercise class and it just runs through a set programme with no rest between the exercises. You will get sweaty and sore with it. Yesterday's routine had a lot of squats and lunges in, and I felt like my legs were going to fall off afterwards :o
Here I go again on my own....
