Seems I am in the money. Got Payroll to check this morning and part of it is tax rebate and the rest is because they pay for full month of Sept because of when I started rather than up to 21st as I presumed. Fantastic news for me after being out of work for 6 months.. means can pay off one debt in full with the extra money! Whoop Whoop!

    :j:j
    Thanks for the update. Enjoy.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.
  • Hi,

That great you got more money than you thought, but remember if your wages are paid monthly i.e the last fri of every month, then every 3 months it will be a 5 week wait for your money instead of a 4 weeks. This means October is a 5 week month. I do Payroll and some people moan to me that they have to wait longer for their wage every quarter,

Just remember if you have a fixed salary, it is an average of the year very month, unless they pay you, every day you work. e.g. 31k /12 = £2583/month.You will pay approx NI £220 & Tax £400 based on a 647L code.

I got my first payslip today as just started new job. What would be the approx amount for a salary of 31k as I think I have been overpaid.. Also would you let accounts know?

Take the money and RUN to the hills!
