Fibreglass roof buildings insurance

Good evening everyone,
I've spent the last few days trying to get building and contents insurance for my house, but I'm really struggling to get any quotes.
The problem seems to be that the property has a fibreglass roof covering 100% of the house.
Most insurers wont even quote, with only one company offering a very high premium. The premium is 5 times higher than the equivalent slated roof quote.
Am I missing a trick here, or am I going to have to pay the huge premium?
Thanks for any help.

Most insurers online (and phone call centres) only choose to insure standard risks - brick / stone / slate / tile (it even has an abbreviation - BSST).
Since you fall outside that criteria you will need to speak to a broker. The insurers will probably be the same as you've tried but they only offer non-standard products via the broker market.0
