Scottish Power (dual fuel) how to compare?

I'm trying to switch from Scottish power dual fuel to someone else, as I don't feel I'm getting the best deal currently. What I want to know is just how do you begin to compare prices? I'm billed monthly for joint gas and electricity and I've no idea how I work out my bill! So it's going to be hard getting a proper comparison.
Can anyone help?!?!
Thanks!

If you go into your Scottish Power account and hunt around a bit, there is a screen which gives you how many KwH you are using for both gas and electricity in any given quarter, set out in table form (there was on mine, anyhow!) You can add up the last four sets of figures to give you your latest annual consumption in KwH (especially useful for gas as the KwH are all worked out for you) and then feed this information into the comparison website/s.A chicken crossing the road is poultry in motion0
