Use for old vanilla pod?

I have a vanilla pod I've used for making vanilla extract and it seems a shame to just throw it away. Does anyone have any suggestions of uses for it?

  • I was gonna suggest the same.
You could also put in an envelope in your undies draw / airing cupboard for vanilla scented pants / sheets.

Ooh, I love the idea of vanilla scented undies! Vanilla pods are 69p in the spices section at Aldi at the mo, might have to pop in a pick up a couple!

  • I second the vanilla sugar idea, I use the sugar to make shortbread for christmas presents for people, they go down a storm!

  • I once(years ago) had posh vanilla scented cashmere socks from M&S, they contained micocapsules of scent!
-Never seen them since so obviously didn't catch on but they were ace (have now lost their scent but socks still going strong!)
