Paypal - Get address first.

After a recent bad experience with a purchase from ebay I realised I had very little contact details for the seller as you are not given their address when you pay via paypal.

I now click on payment by cheque, (if available) print out the sellers address, (without sending the information to seller,) before going back and paying by paypal.

I feel this allows a bit more come back should things go wrong. I have had emails ignored etc but when you write to people they'll often take it more seriously.

My bad experience was a seller drastically changing their listing at the last minute and foolishly I didn't check. They wanted twice the winning price and I'd already paid normal price.

Ebay were useless showing no interest and no useful advice even though the seller was in breach of listing policies.

Paypal were much more helpful, but as mentioned in other topics, can only refund if funds are still there. I'm waiting to see if the money arrives in my paypal account.

That's a great idea! I shall certainly make a record of the address before I pay by paypal in future, just in case.
