Hello,
On Friday I had a accident in my car and at the moment it seems to be going OK but i have to fax over my licence and I was unaware that I had to mention about my points I received back in april, and people are telling me that my claim will be scrapped and i will have to fund it myself? is this correct or do you think the insurance company will/may beleive me on this honest mistake? i have been with them 3 years now and will continue to be with them i hope someone can help me on this..
many thanks in advance.

they can reject your claim for not disclosing you had points on your license if you were asked if you had any convictions/points.However if the points are a basic speeding penalty you should be fine as it would'nt really of changed your policy in the first place.I would let them know asap though and make them aware that it was a genuine mistake0

i got my points after i renued, since the accident happend i have not been asked and yes they were for a basic speeding fine, i was caught by a roadside camera... i am faxing my licence over tomorrow do you think i should wait until then?0

you should be fine, depends on whether your policy states that you have to inform them straightaway or at renewal.most insurance companies only ask at renewal and the 3 points for speeding shouldnt affect the policy anyway.who are you insured with.0

quinn direct - I so hope your right  don't fancy paying for this bill also... thats all I would need.. only bought the car last week....0

I presume you have told them about the new car?0

Yes, everything is up to date on the car front.. i was just totally unaware I would have to tell them about my points..0

Quinn Direct are a law unto themselves and are one of the companies that request to be advised of convictions immediately you receive them or within a reasonable amount of time. They quite often make an extra charge mid term for the convictions0
