It would really really help if we knew where you were travelling from. And to, come to that - you might not need separate tube tickets from some places.0 -

A groupsave for 4 of you (£55 total) and an off peak travelcard from Leamington for the 5th (£32), plus 4 zone 1-2 travelcards @£5.60 a head when you get to London (the 5th is covered by the travelcard from Leamington) is probably it. You don't need to book - buy on the day
(Groupsave is not available on travelcards hence the need to split things)
You could have a look at the advance fares - follow the 'barcode'link from
http://www.chilternrailways.co.uk/tickets-and-fares/ - but I doubt if they will help - the cheaper ones look to have gone0 -

Although the Groupsave option for a travelcard doesn't appear on the on-line fares page, it IS available according to the website text HERE or HERE, click the Groupsave from £16 bit. So maybe worth checking at the station. Groupsave travelcards are certainly available here in the South.0 -
Groupsave travelcard (route via Banbury) for 4 people is £64 according to the online booking engines.pompeyrich wrote: »Did you really mean to put loose?

Chiltern's booking engine said £128 - which is why I said not available on travelcards.
Happy for the correction though0 -

That's odd. I used Days out guide and double checked with CrossCountry, as it unfortunately doesn't seem to be an option on the WebTIS system.Chiltern's booking engine said £128 - which is why I said not available on travelcards.

Groupsave will never but never work on advance tickets - it's not intended to. It works on standard fare off peak journeys with many but not all train companies.0
