EMA - will this get backdated?

Dear All, My daughter started her full time college course last week and has been told that her EMA wont start until October?! Does anyone know whether this EMA is likely to be backdated from when she actually started college - I'm having to fork out the bus fare until these payments start (£20 for last week alone) so am…

I've been getting my EMA paid every week since I started the new term but two weeks ago, the payments suddenly stopped. I haven't been absent so I asked the college and they said payments had been authorised so they had no idea why I haven't received my money. I phoned the EMA helpline and was on hold for 45 minutes before I finally gave up and put the phone down. Has anybody else had similar problems?
