End of 3 year PCP handing the car back tips needed

Ive reached teh end of a 3 years lease ona bmw 1 series and im looking to hand it back.. The car is in reasonable condition no bumps or bruises but it needs a service and its a little tatty.. Does anyhow have any tips on how to hand it back so as not to get stung with charges for depatable problems (e.g. take photos before handing the car back?)

The finance company will usually send a document advising what is reasonable/allowed and what is chargable.

An overdue service is probably chargable, unless it's due as you hand the car back.

Also I would get it cleaned. Spending £10-20 to make the car look presentable may make it harder for them to sting you later

Get it valeted? I spent £60 on my last one (lease car return). I had a wee moan about the cost and he said...well why are you not doing it yourself:rotfl:

There is a guide that your lease company will have. It will tell you what is allowed, and what will be chargable.

Missed services will vary, and for a premium cars such as BM the knock on effect on residual value will be higher, so expect to get charged several hundred for that.
