Thank you jazabelle - there doesn't seem to be one in my area but I will email them and see what they suggest.
I have just called adult services and spoke to a lovely lady who took all my details, basically she put that I probably did not need a daily care package but would find direct payments of use so I could use the money to get the help I need. Anyway she is going to make an appointmnet of an OT to come and see me, fingers crossed it wont take too long!!0 -
May I ask what your area is, so I can see if I can find out who covers you? Or perhaps PM me if you don't want to say. Hi jazabelle, I live in Folkestone, Kent, thank you for your help. I would really prefer to move back with my parents but would need more room than they have. If I really could get this grant ot would mean my son and I would be able to live a proper life with a great support network.0

Hello, I'm sorry to hearyour struggling. I've got ME but live with my parents (and don't have kids). Do you know the ME parents message board (as in parents who have ME rather than parents of people with ME)? I can't remember the address but if you google it, it should come up. Its a board dedicated to supporting each other and sharing adviceBest wins in 2013 £200 and Mini iPad. 2014 no wins. 2015 2 nights 5* hotel with £300 vouchers plus £1150 Harrods gift card

Sorry it took so long to get back to you. Did a little research for you! You're right, Anchor sadly don't cover your area.
Environmental Health in your local council do offer Disabled Facilities Grants, but first you need to contact Occupational Therapy on 01303 224370 and ask them to send the recommendations straight to the agency underneath. The agency that helps you is called Shepway Home Improvement Agency, and they can be contacted on 01303 244434.
Basically your parents would make the claim, as you as their disabled dependant, as far as I know.
Hope this helps if you do go this route."There is no medicine like hope, no incentive so great, and no tonic so powerful as expectation of something better tomorrow." - Orison Swett Marden0 -
Oh thank you for your help, that is so kind of you. Well I called my OT yesterday and will be getting an appointment for a reassesment in the next few weeks so I will tell her about my thoughts and see how she takes it. Fingers crossed she will agree!0
