I filed a financial hardship claim with Natwest and they have offered me 1300 pounds. That is the good news. The probelm is that I was made bankrupt in January and Natwest are saying that I am not entitled to that money and that they would have to distribute it amongst my creditors. Does anyone know if this is true.
In the letter sent to me they said they would credit my account within 10 days but they closed the account last week. Can they make the cheque payable to the official receivers and let them take the money. I know that I am obliged to tell the Official Receivers about monies I receive and that they may take half of any amount received but can Natwest Bank make that call?
Any help greatly appreciated.

Tell natwest that the account is closed and that if this is the case how will they distribute the remaining amount to the Official Receiver.0 -
Further update
I've just received a letter from the Official Receiver saying that I am to be discharged early. Does this change things? Do Natwest now have to pay the money direct to me. They know the account is closed because they are the ones that closed it last week.0 -
nope it changes nothing since the money would still be part of the funds owed to your creditors.much2broke wrote: »Further update
