Hmmm.... well, I have done that - MatL and Astaroth, you were right, it does look a bit odd. The black background has gone but it wasn't a pure black so it's a bit grainy grey. The middle, where the firework goes off is a brilliant white. And yes, Wombat, the rest of the colours have changed.
I dunno, it seemed like a good idea to me to just replace colours.I'm not as green as I'm cabbage looking!

hi, im a graphic designer and i know photoshop like the back of my hand. If you want to email me the image I can do it for you while im at work. It will only take a few mins and it will be quicker than explaining it on here!
images for print should be saved at 300 dpi in cmyk NOT rgb. jpg and tiffs are the formats to save as.

Astaroth, I have sort of got that far with my picture. Well, not really that far but along those lines! Quick and dirty, eh? Took me flaming ages to get not nearly that clarity!!
I don't really want to use a cartoony thing. I suppose it's because I had sort of thought that I could swap the colours and had pictured it in my head. That'll teach me to get ideas above my (computer literacy) station!I'm not as green as I'm cabbage looking!

I think the "problem" is that fireworks are defined by their dark backdrop - hence why all fireworks displays are done at night rather than day light.
To be honest I think you would need a dark background (dark blue or such if not black) to make them look impressive. All posts made are simply my own opinions and are neither professional advice nor the opinions of my employers

Oh thanks Laura!
I'm not quite sure what you mean but I will send you the image. Don't worry if you can't do it because it isn't the right format or whatever.
That is so kind of you to offer!I'm not as green as I'm cabbage looking!

meclive, I don't think I can upload an image because the sites you sent me want a url.
Yes, I know I'm dim. Blame it on me being a child of the 60's - we didn't have computers then! If we wanted a picture we had to cut it out using a sharp pair of scissors and stick it on paper with UHU glue!I'm not as green as I'm cabbage looking!

Why don't you print off the pics with a black background, cut them out and stick them on a contrasting border, then onto the front of your cards.... maybe add a few stick on sparkles to the odd bits of firework.
A bit like that....?Just run, run and keep on running!0 -
