  • Hi Toottifrootti

The tropical spiders are found quite commonly in Southern Britain now, and as things get warmer they are travelling up-country. Their favourite food is the nice furry black house-spider we all love so much....

We have an old cottage, so we used to get hundreds of the furry black house spiders, especially in Autumn (normally dead on the floor in the morning!). Then the numbers started to go down.... Then we had none *at all* for a few years. Couldn't understand it - wasn't anything *I* was doing! DD was very young and I must admit that I had let things go a bit... dusty :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:... for a year or so....or five....

Then we went to France with my sister for a whole month one Summer, and shut the place up. When we came back, the place was just infested with these tropical spiders. Literally. Every cupboard, nook and cranny. Every time you put your hand in a plate cupboard, in the larder cupboard, behind a curtain, in the bookcase, it was coated in this fine tangled web :eek::eek::eek::eek:

Every wall had 7 or 8 of them, bouncing up and down (they dance when you come close). Every spider has 30 or so babies, 5 or so times a year....

I got a Dyson rechargeable dustette and waged war on them. It's been three years now... and this Autumn I have seen about 8 black furry housespiders (dead on the carpet, mainly ). I could kiss them I'm so pleased to see them back......:p

No... wait, that's totally gross!!!

Still, you get my drift... :o

I haven't yet got them out of the CELLAR OF DOOM (and my freezer is down there....) but I have evil plans for total elimination (Bwahahahahaha)...

(But the trouble is: 'Clean the cellar' never appears on a flylady list....;))

Jinky...know how you feel about the tax credits. Apparently we owe them £2,800! If you can't afford to pay you can do a financial statement over the phone and pay a small amount back per month. We pay £20 per month.

DD2 (age 2) has just seen the pic of Martin at the top of the page and said 'There's Daddy'!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

They say we owe them between £3k and £4k - they are useless. We are getting nought this year and they are taking what we should have against our payments so not actually paying anything back in cash but really noticing the lack of income.

DS3 refers to Martin as 'your leader' :rotfl::rotfl:

I have him drugged and in bed.
:rotfl::rotfl: sorry I know it isn't funny he's ill, it's the way your say it.

G&B hugs for your LO and I hope your Dad is ok

Flying very minimal today. Did cook various bits at tea time out of leftovers and bits from the freezer so MS dinner.

Need to get the kids upstairs and then I have loads of bits to do on here.

Oh good DH is home, he can get DS3 to bed.

Well I finally got off my bum and started todays flylady and my bedroom looks great.
I even put fancy scatter cushions on my bed (oohhh get me lol), and sprayed some perfume that I dont wear in the room to make it smell nice, so ive not done too bad.

Should really make a start on some more ironing but I really cant be bothered now.

So I am pleased to say da da da daaaaaa Toots can I have a star please

You know I cant believe how good it makes me feel when I do get a nice clean room, it makes me feel really good, and im really enjoying it because Ive been feeling a bit down for a while, and life just feels as if its getting on top of me, and kind of passing me by IYSWIM. Anyway, I feel really good today cos I see my kitchen and dining room (except dining room table where pile of ironing is), bathroo, study, my bedroom and landing is lovely and clean.

So I think I will leave the ironing for now, and just have a read through the thread to catch up, and maybe start in half an hour or so, cos I do need to iron my clothes for tomorrow and for DS as he is having a non uniform day at school tomorrow.

Hope everyone is doing well, hugs to everyone who needs them.

    Jackie xx

Well I havent done much today. I popped on this morning to get todays list but was having problems getting on. On my first day off work for ages!!!! Typical. Went to uni and have been mooching about ever since.

I start my volunteering at the CAB tomorrow morning. Excited and nervous in equal measures :D

I think I will stick a wash on and then read over my CAB notes.
