Morning everyone. Very gusty winds here today. I lay on the sofa last night to watch some tv and knew nothing more till the phone rang at 9.30pm. DD checking up as I usually ring her about 8. Off to see mum as I didnt get yesterday. Then to my vol job. Need to go to library and Argos but off to do the dailies and get some of the bathroom done. Doing a sponsored weight loss soon to raise money for the project Im involved in at the hospital. Will give me a incentive too. Right where is my list.

greenbee The bags are brilliant. Well done.
kazmeister Hugs for you and DH. That doesnt sound right. Did other people fail too?
    zoe Hugs.
Toots and Lady L Big hugs.
  • Toots my love when you have a minute, can I have my star for yesterday please? I know I'm sad for wanting it, but as it hardly ever happens I want to bask in the glory of one!! LOL xx

    Morning all

Greenbee - love the pix - well done!

    Kaz - big hugs love

Zoelikesjam - chicken soup recipe.... it varies depending on what I have in. Last night, it went like this:

    • Strip any remaining chicken meat from the carcass - discard the skin
    • Pop the bones in a saucepan, cover with water and simmer for an hour or so
    • Strain the stock, throw away the bones
    • Fry an onion and some chopped celery in the juices from the tin it was originally roasted in for a couple of minutes (I used some for gravy but put the rest in a cup in the fridge - I was then able to scrap off the fat and throw it away and just use the tasty juice bit)
    • I then threw in some fresh parsley, fresh basil, peeled and chopped carrot, parsnip and potato, added the stock, the remaining gravy from sunday, the chicken bits I'd stripped from the bones and a tin of tomatoes all chopped up.
    • I let it bubble away gently for about 45 minutes then thickened a bit with some bisto and served with chunks of fresh home made (well bread maker made!) bread
It's easy, though it takes time and is really tasty. You can put in any veg you like....

Done some of the bathroom this morning, thanks to my brilliant idea of letting DD shower herself.....she also done half the floor, the carpet outside and the top of the stairs!!!!! Hey-ho, did shout at first but then realised A. my fault for leaving her in there(was only in the next room, getting dressed) and B. some of my jobs got done so I thanked her for her help but asked if she could not do the carpets next time!!!!!!

Hope you are all well and hugs to those in need, extra squishy ones for LL and Toots xx
  • Morning - I'm waiting for Mr T to come as DH has used up all the milk and I really want cereal for breakfast.

Very tired this morning - going for a walk with a friend later, hope that will perk me up a bit!

Think I will pull out the sofa while waiting for Mr T, if he's not here by 10 I will have toast as I'm getting quite peckish!

Big hugs Kazm and DH, so sorry to hear that he has failed his assessments – can he appeal and retake them?

Ishtar hope your family get better soon

  • Morning everyone.

It's taking me a little while to wake up today as i was awake myself for ages last night with stomach ache and then when i finally dropped off, both kids were awake and shouting for me, and i was in there for about 30 minutes with them before returning to bed. Tired is not the word.

Anyway, i managed to shout instructions for DH to get the WM on for me, so 1 load done before i even woke up, and now another one in. Pea and ham soup in the SC ready for our lunch. Kids are now sat eating breakfast so i guess i need to get them dressed in a minute and try to get on. I need ot get to the shops for some bits so i will call to the chemists then for a linctus for DS2. Hopefully then we will all sleep a bit better tonight.

Greenbee excellent handbags. Very talented. I was looking through some of your facebook piccies and tried to add you as a friend but you must have very high security settings. You can see how you are getting better with each one. Glad you enjoy it.

Kazm sorry to hear your DH is still having so many work problems. I don't know why they have to make it so difficult for someone experienced to do their job. Hope something gets sorted and eases some of the stress for you all.

    Morning all

Got up late as I kept pressing the snooze button! Managed to get Miss A and W organised in time for school and have just mooched around on here since I got back. Need to jump in the shower and get ready for blood donors, not sure how long it will take as there were no appts left (forgot to book one earlier)

Kazm that sounds terrible for your DH, if I were him I would write down everything that happened and responses they gave to him, then contact his union for advice. Sending coping vibes to you both.
