Hi
I was wondering if anybody has had any experience of the above engine. I have a MK4 year 2000 VW Golf Cabriolet (Its a mk 3 apart from the steering wheel, and front/rear bumbers). The engine is only 75bhp but Is ok As I dont drive fast anyway. Its done 64k, I had the cambelt changed at 60k. I was wondering as this is one of the older VW engines, how good is it? Will it last 'forever' like the older vw's. The car had 1 owner from new and had been serviced regularly.
Any comments?

OH is a mechanic and has said:
"Good car, has some small electrical faults from time to time..mainly with the engine. Keep an eye out for water leaks around the roof (as per usual cabrios)..can sometimes suffer with clutch problems due to old fashioned clutch style system";)I am not a complete idiot - some parts are missing;)0 -
Thanks for your reply, The car had been kept in a garage since new so the roof looks like its new! I suppose i@m coming to the end of the cabriolet season< so i wint have the roof down much longer until next summer!Vegas Trips....Feb 2007, Nov 2007, September 2008, August 2009, September 2011..........:beer:0
