reclaim PPI with hsbc?

hi

can anyone give me and my partner some advice re claiming our PPI back from HSBC.

We took out a loan 4years ago which is just about to end, we were told on taking out the laon with PPI that if we didnt make a claim during the life of loan that we would be intitled to a percentage of this back, my boyfriend went to the bank recently to find out how this monies would be credited to our account and was told that this isnt the case,

should we push this further, and if so how????

thank UUUUUUUUU.

SO you only bought this PPI from them then thinking that you would get some back at the end? Was it made compulsory to the loan at all? Did they ask any questions in relation to you actually being eligible to make a claim.

If you want to go about complaining for misselling then there is a good guide here from Martin
    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance

It gives lots of reasons for misselling and also there are template letters to make a complaint. I would always say its best to use the template as a guide only and do your own letter with your own reasons. You then write to whoever sold you the insurance (ie the bank) and give them 8 weeks for a full and final response. Don't forget to send it recorded delivery and good luck to you both.
  • it wasnt made compullsory they asked Qs re health and employment, but said the PPI could only be in one of our names.

    thanks for your last message.

From what you have said, they still misrepresented themselves by making you believe you got some back if you did not claim and you have said they do not credit you any back?? If this is the case its up to you whether to take this further for a missale but if it were me and i was led to believe one thing and it was not the case, then I would.

    Hope you get it sorted.
