    Frizzy roots!

It's probably not that bad though, only perhaps in comparison to the absolute perfection you have prior to the regrowth.

If I had the cash, I'd do it.

This doesn't happen as the keratin gradually leaves your hair so there is no noticable difference. the only thing I notice is slightly more volume at the roots but by then my hair is going slightly wavy anyway.

  • Hi.
For a Birthday treat I had a trip to Trevor Sorbie's in Covent Garden for a "Style Solution" treatment. From your descriptions it sounds about the same thing. The effect lasts about 3mths, and the time saving (extra sleep time) makes it very worthwhile... I have HUGE hair (think Crystal Tipps And Alistair..) and started using straighteners last year, but it was always a little "wayward"....Now, 5mins with the straighteners when I get up (instead of the previous 30:eek:) and it looks & feels fab!
Have already started saving for my next treatment (£195 :eek:) - have cut back on leg waxing, and started using my epilator (:eek:)!!!

  • nicky Im in Manchester area myself and after reading your original post have read up loads on permanent blow dry and have actually had it done this evening at a salon in Bolton.

Can't obviously say how good it is yet as I have the dreaded 3 days without clipping it back before I can wash it and see the results all I can say is it smells fab!! Strawberry treatment for me.

If you want the details of where I have had it done PM me and I'll give you the full details. Not sure if can do it on the open forum as might be classed as advertising although I have no connection at all with the salon.

The cost by the way was £143 for my long and very thick hair an that includes bottles of the special shampoo and conditioner as well.

Roll on Monday morning when I cxan wash it and see the results.

oooo this sounds great but cant really afford that much money. ive had a browse on ebay and you can actually buy the 'brazillian keratin' chocohair set and do it yourself - from america though. does anyone reckon this would be ok?

I have seen it as well there are lots of sites that sell it BUT a lot of them do not say whether they include Formaldehyde (sp?) the original stuff did but the newer doesn't. I have read reports that the formaldehyde versions do work but there is a risk of your hair getting damaged and the formaldehyde is not good if you breathe in the fumes and believe me even the non formaldehyde version gives off a lot of steam/smoke when you are blowdrying it onto the hair and then having it sealed with straighteners.

I have looked at the same product that was used on my hair but you don't seem to be able to buy it unless you are a hairdresser. If it works I'm going to have a chat with my usual salon and see if they can order me the same brand as was used on mine even if they don't apply it for me. (I might ask one of the girls if they fancy a bit of freelance work doing it at my house)

Just also to let you know how mine is getting on I had it done Thursday evening and it does look fab still very shiny and healthy although not being able to tie it up until after I have washed it on Monday is starting to get annoying now! I have had to run the GHD's over it to iron out a couple of kinks from where it sits on my shoulders but its literally been a 2 min job so no issue there. I'll update you all on Monday once I have been able to wash it to let you know if its worked and is worth it!

I've not had it but I'd love to - you can have it done even if your hair is coloured or bleached, which with previous straightening treatments wasn't always the case.

Juice, as you say there is no problem at all with coloured or bleached hair in fact it works even better the worse the condition of the hair. I have a colours on mine and also a few blond highlights although it was still in pretty good condition and its not caused me any problems at all. The only thing they do advise is that you don't colour it again until at least a week after the treatment has been done. Oh and if you have it done at a salon that doesn't do the treatment you need to take your special shampoo and conditioner as if you use normal non-organic that includes sulphur it will reduce the amount of time the straightening treatment lasts.

Im thinking having them for a wedding in Cyprus next year that I am bridesmaid at so would appreciate it if you would let me know what they are like.

I'm slowly but surely becoming maintenance free on a daily basis I'm 4 out of 6 sessions through laser hair removal on underarms and bikini and its fab doesn't hurt to have done and already after 4 sessions am getting next to no regrowth even though my last treatment was back in July! So soon it will be maintenance free head and body hair!! Woohooo loads of extra time saved!
