Eon Price protecion 2011

Hi, my parents have been with Eon price protection til Oct 2009, they have just recieved a letter as obviously it is coming to and end saying they will be put on price protection R3 deal until May 2011.
Should they do this or stop or change?

The new Prices will be

Electricity

Primary unit rate 24.165p/kWh Ex Vat 25.373p/kWh Inc Vat
Secondary 9.215p/kWh Ex VAt 9.676p/kWh Inc VAt

Gas

Primary 6.574p/kWh 6.903p/kWh
Secondary 3.433p/kWh 3.605p/kWh

At the moment their electricity is at 18.66p and 9.63p
Gas is at 5.061p and 3.226p

Can any one recommend what we should do? Thanks for any help it is much appreciated as these numbers dont mean much to me lol!!! xx

    Hi bethheartchris :hello:

If your parents want to stay on a capped tariff, they can do this by choosing the R3 deal.

However, they may not want to have capped prices anymore therefore, they can look at the alternatives, they will find that non capped tariffs may be cheaper and offer more discount, this is because you do normally pay a premium to protect your prices.

It just depends if they would like the peace of mind of a capped price, or the slightly cheaper (for now) of an alternative tariff.

Have a look on the website or a comparison site to see what there is, or you can just give us a call and ask.
