Cyclamen from Aldi

I've often used these in autumn containers because I like the colours and they look great with ivies & pansies, etc. My container ones have never come back....I thought that the cold probably just got to them, but oddly, when I bought a couple & planted them straight into the ground, they came back for the following two years. I guess it may come down to different varieties or how well they are looked after. I admit I am bad at remembering to water my autumn & winter containers, as the colder seasons don't always mean that we get more rain. I wouldn't be at all surprised if lack of water causes the demise of my container cyclamens! I'll try harder this year as am planning to plant them up at the weekend.2026's challenges: 1) To rebuild our Emergency Fund to at least £5k.

We bought some of these a couple of weeks ago at a plant fair, the lady said to feed them weekly with tomato food and when a flower head dies, to twist it off, down near its base to encourage new growth.0

If they're like the cheap ones that B&Q do, it says on the pack that they are one season only. They don't like very cold weather either which may also be why some don't come back up after a hard winter.
Thanks for heads up for Aldi though - I need some for this year, so might pop down and have a look. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -

The pot grown ones were probably eaten by vine weevil grubs, they love cyclamen & fuchias in pots you could apply vine weevil killer drench [Primovo make it] to pots this autumn & again in spring
In the open ground other predators, like beetles & birds eat them before they cause any harmWhen an eel bites your bum, that's a Moray0
