Aviva website not working?

Hi Techies, can you help me please.

I'm have been unable to access the Aviva car insurance website all weekend, but am unsure if its just my pc or problems wz their site?

I've also been getting stuck on the zurich credit card validation page, which doesnt open properly. I've run malware and have avast, should I try something else?

Thanks for confirming for me, I did suspect it might be a probem my end.

Anybody any ideas what I can do to fix it?

There may be little you can do apart from call the ISP. I assume you've rebooted your PC which will clear up any screwed up local DNS cache.

For diagnostic purposes open up a command prompt and type...

tracert www.Aviva.co.uk

It should start off ...

Tracing route to www.gslb.aviva.co.uk [83.231.207.230]

after that there should be a series of hops (some intermediates may stall) ending up at the Aviva website...

10 27 ms 25 ms 38 ms eua0000091-vip20.eu.verio.net [83.231.207.230]
Trace complete.

If there is no resolution of the url to an IP then it is a DNS issue and you could try using the http://www.opendns.com/ DNS

If it doesn't end up at Aviva it is either a problem with the ISP routing or just an intermediate router down. In that case you could try getting in via a proxy which may take a different route - http://www.daveproxy.co.uk/
