Where/When to sell my books?

My 300th post...woohoo.

After I've done with my exams I will have a load of module books that I no longer need, and I'm wondering where I should sell them...I have an eBay account but some of the books on eBay don't get up to a decent price, that you would expect for books costing £50 a time.

So I'm looking for other places to sell them, and when do you think would be the best price to sell?..I'm thinking maybe July because I know there are re-sits in August and people may be looking for module books then. Any help appreciated, I do a reasonable amount of selling but not usually in this market, so it will be interesting to read your responses.

I've sold niche books fairly successfully on Amazon marketplace. This works well for books which are out of print or have to be imported.

You can also try putting up notices aroun uni to sell the books on.

If you sell on Amazon then you can list the books for three months at a time.

I've been selling books on Amazon lately [some text books among them] Its v easy to list books but I would suggest reading the helpful thread about getting started which is now up to Part 4 and can be found in 'Ebay & other auctions, Car Boot and Jumble Sales Board' section. There is a guide to getting going at the beginning of the thread and its a v good place to ask questions and get helpful advice. What I would say is text books need to be current not older editions and that Amazon give a fixed amount for postage so you need to be sure you are not selling heavy books at a low price just to get rid and then having to fork out lots for postage. No paypal though and no need for photos. You could go to Amazon website & click on 'sell your stuff' and put in the ISBN numbers to see what sort of prices you get before you decide to pursue it. You can keep relisitng books after the initial 2 months is up so you could start ASAP really.

    Good luck

Thanks for both your responses. I will certainly look into using Amazon as a place for selling the text books. I'll let you know how I get on in a few weeks time over at the eBay & other auctions board!
