Hi
Everytime I go into my sent items in Outlook I freeze. I think I need to delete some of the sent items to free up some space. Is there anyway of doing this without going into Outlook? If not has anyone got any ideas on the freezing when in sent items.

I wonder if you go into Tools , then Options , then the send TAB , untick the top one that says "save a copy" and then click the Apply button , then shut down Outlook Express and re-open it if this will "purge" the sent folder.
you can always go back and retick it afterwardsEx forum ambassador

Thanks. I have tried this and I did manage to highlight a message ready to delete and then the egg timer appeared and that was that.0

Search for *.dbx and rename the Sent Items.dbx to something else, then try and start OE again. This can be done with any of the folders in OE.
The path to the dbx files is quite deep, hence why I suggest a search.
You will see Outlook Express in the path for the correct files as well as the other OE folders.widget1974 wrote: »Thanks. I have tried this and I did manage to highlight a message ready to delete and then the egg timer appeared and that was that.0 -
Can the emails not be deleted from the web page, ie GMail, Hotmail, etc? That should free up Outlook.
Good luck0
