Quick update on above - it was definitely a flea  so done a quick smart to the vets who inform me that fleas are becoming resistant to Frontline so to try Advocate instead. Fine, says I, how much is that for 3 months supply? #25.00 for the dog and #20.00 for the cat! Plus another #20.00 for a can of Acclaim to spray the house with!!

*......slooooowwwwly comes around again and hands over #65.00*

  • Evening all,

I have updated the first post so welcome Hayz and longhauladdict.

True27 bad luck about the fleas but at least you caught it now before it got worse. Vets, in my opinion, are like mechanics, soley there to part you from your money but unfortunately sometimes there is no other choice:rolleyes:

I went out after work for a couple of drinks with a friend from uni I had not seen in years and spent £10.50 so that is a big chunk of the budget well and truely blown but them were mighty tasty cocktails.

Oh couldn't agree more!! Wish they weren't so nice about it though!!

Anyway, it cleared out my emergency pot so need to build that back up again on payday so I'll stick to my 15quid for this week (11 left) but need to knock it back to less than 10 next week

  • Hi All

Bit late this week, been away for the weekend and it's been a bit hectic catching up.

Congratulations on the wedding ring True27, that's soooo exciting :D! Thanks for the bit about the fleas too, we're having a nightmare this year with fleas, and I was beginning to wonder why the Frontline wasn't working. Will give the Advocate a try instead.

Budget for this week = £15, have already spent £4.70 on lunches, choccies and pop :p, but hopefully will be enough to last the rest of the week.

    :hello: hi been!

I *think* the Advocate is working, both cat and dog have hardly scratched at all since being dosed up (fingers crossed!) although i have binned their bedding and bought new since treating the house. it hasn't been a very MS week in true's household!

The whole wedding thing is uber exciting :D!! oooo can't wait!!!

NSD for me yesterday, hopefully also today and tomorrow so am still on £4/£20. The incentive for me is to be putting this money into my jar at the end of the week, trying to beat my OH who is also on £20 this week! Not under the thumb at all!!!!

Then we have decided that whoever spends the least at the end of the month gets that money to pay off towards their debt, just a little incentive, but as my debt is bigger than his, I am determined to win!!! :p

    Wish me luck
