This challenge used to run every week (thanks to Moozie and PAP) but I have not seen it in a while so I hope no one minds but I need this to keep me on track ...

Hello everyone a010.gif. Welcome to the weekly spend challenege. This challenge is open to anybody, no matter what financial place they are in.

On this thread please post an amount of money you wish to stay below within the week (Sunday to end of working day on Friday). This can be pennies or thousands it depends on the individual. Then next Saturday report back and pledge for the following week. Feel free to update this thread with daily spends if that keeps you on track.

This is a little bit of fun but for many it highlights the fact that maybe that magazine/chocolate bar isn't needed. Hopefully your spending habits can be changed forever. clapping.gif

Moozie was the founder of this challenge and here is a quote taken from her around last year

The challenge is about incidental spending and not for stuff that should be budgeted elsewhere such as bills, groceries, debt repayment etc but you decide what to include at the end - this is about changing your habits and improving your recording of your spends more than anything else. Have a great week everyone and keep it low!!! Moozie x

Good luck everyone.:T

  • Morning budgeteers,

It is the beginning of another week. I am going for £20 this week not to include the night out on Tuesday as I am off to the theatre (tickets already paid for) but I am not sure how much dinner will be so don't want that to blow my week and cause me to go on a crazy spenidng spree.
    Weekly Spend Challenge: £0/£30

  • I will begin at £10 for this week. Thanks.

Hi guys - can I join this week? Kinda fell off the DFW wagon for a couple of months but now the dreaded "C" word is lurking I need to jump back on! Plus we're getting married in 8 weeks time so pennies are very tight!! So I'd like to aim for £15 this week, but only because I need petrol! :)

  • Hi All
Been away from the challenge for a couple of weeks on holiday, but back now and raring to go, got an overdraft to get rid of by Christmas, so can you put me down for £15 next week please, this includes a meal out with friends!
    Good luck to everyone
    Debt free 11/05/11!

  • Can I join please?

I would like to spend no more than £15.50 this week as that is all the cash I have after having had a huge clean-up this morning. I suspect that most of this will be gone tmrw as I have a card and present to buy someone.

Hopefully no coffees, bus rides, mags etc for me this week.:D

  • Welcome new and returning budgeteers:beer:

I have updated you all on the first post. Let us know how you get on through the week.

Things could get tricky this week as I am meeting a friend from Uni for drinks tomorrow night which I had not planned for. I think I am going to only say for a couple of hours that way I will spend less and will not de tempted to get food.

Can I start with £20 this week please, seems high, but I'd rather beat it than not in my 1st week of trying!!

Had a great day today - been into town and bought my wedding ring :D (i'm only a little bit excited, honest :rotfl:) and some other wedding related bits all of which comes out of the wedding budget :p although the #4.00 parking had to come out of my spends for this week (and my pound sign isn't working)!!

Have a feeling I'm going to end up blowing the budget this week because I *think* I've just seen a flea  on dear doggles which means dog, cat and house need debugging!! Although that could be classed an emergency and therefore good use of the emergency/rainy day fund?? What do you think?? Or is that cheating :o??
